GReat worldcup match

Zimbabwe will have rationalized the monumental defeat in the last match as a capitulation to a tactically sound New Zealand. A couple of avoidable run outs were there too; but what of that when they can hark not too far back to the memorable performance against Canada, where Tatenda Taibu and Craig Ervine constructed a 170-run partnership to enable Zimbabwe to amass 298. However, it was the lower middle-order which provided, ironically, the better batting performance against the Kiwis. Though they have Regis Chakabva as cover, Zimbabwe will still have their fingers crossed for Sean Williams to be back in order for this game. Brendan Taylor looked good against the Kiwis, but is not getting support from the others as Zimbabwe have tended to lose wickets too early in their innings.
The spinners have found the Indian tracks to their liking so far, having troubled the Australians and run through the Canadians. In Ray Price, Prosper Utseya, Graeme Cremer and Greg Lamb, Zimbabwe has a consistent group of spinners. They will, however, want Chris Mpofu to replace Tanyashe Panyangara, who was not all that effective against the Kiwis.
Zimbabwe fell victim to their own over-confidence, with all their pre-match bravado about targeting the New Zealand side coming a cropper. They now find themselves mostly out of the reckoning for the quarter-finals and need a special performance against one of the big guns to change that scenario.
